Two part tooling, dedicated to specific blades, is loaded to the upper and lower platform which are pneumatically controlled.

Free standing manually indexed gauge rotates through a total of 70º of twist as it moves to each gauging position.

Rollers track, guide and position the blade with the aid of precision slides and trunnion bearings, maintaining correct orientation of blade to gauging head.

Radial profile gauges for high speed checking of form and size on blade segments after precision radial grinding.

The gauging units consist of a standard radial arm fixture with interchangeable location nests and gauge heads.

Fixtures can be supplied in any length or height to suit customers requirements.

Electronic sensing ensures the component is located correctly, before pneumatically operated precision slides accurately position gauge heads and activate probe levers.

Readings are taken via transducers and compared to sizes obtained from a setting master, the results can be analysed/displayed by either PC or electronic columns.

Testing the functionality of a component against set criteria

Two types of gauge with changeable parts will check a range of diameters, of both inner and outer bearing raceways; the third gauge checks the diametrical clearance (DC) between the inner and outer raceway assemblies.

To apply a known load to the top of an aerosol can (cap/spray-dome) and measure the amount of deformation caused by the application of that load. This is carried out at different temperatures, over time, to determine plastic creep.

Fixture holds a turbine blade (can be modified to take any type of component) for multi-axis manipulation, for testing in this instance, for casting flaws on an x-ray machine.
